Jinwoo & Bram

Our Story

In October of 2020, Jinwoo Chong cancelled a dinner with a coworker in Midtown when a teetering crane forced Nobu Fifty Seven to evacuate. He had scheduled a pandemic-era FaceTime date with one such Bram McGinnis for later that week, but, as he walked home, decided to send a text and propose moving up their call.

Several more FaceTime dates (the first one went well), three in-person dates, two months apart for the holidays, another two and a half years, a hundred dates in Hell’s Kitchen’s Flame Diner, a combined three bouts of covid, a half-marathon, a book (and book tour), dozens of Broadway shows, two shared apartments, a street-sighting of Idina Menzel, a few choice vacations (some for book appearances, other for leisure), and one perforated appendix later, Bram and Jinwoo are finally getting married!

Bram proposed on a Mykonos beach this past August, after telling Jinwoo that a proposal was not in the cards during their big summer vacation for no less than six months. They are now feverishly working to plan the wedding they’ve always dreamed of, and hope, sincerely, that you’ll be able to join them on their special day.

Here are some of Bram & Jinwoo’s goals for married life:

  • Travel and experience every part of the globe

  • Work out a proper and efficient apartment cleaning schedule

  • Adopt a little brother for their daughter, Harper the Cat

  • See a show in every Broadway theater

  • Road-trip across the country (and camp in tents on the ground)

  • Skydive

  • Continue to build their home together

  • Promote their parents to grandparents

  • Be happy, every single day
